A private family organizer: your information stays yours
HouseChief is a private family organizer. Everything you add belongs to your family's household and is seen only by your family, plus anyone you give a read-only share link. There are no ads, no ad or analytics trackers, and your data is never sold. The AI asks a parent before it changes anything, kids have no accounts, and you can delete the whole family account from Settings. The full plain-language summary is at /privacy.
Kept to your household
Each family is one household, and every calendar event, meal, list, chore and chat is tied to it. Only the signed-in members of your family see it. There's no public profile, no discovery, no way for another HouseChief family to see yours, and two separate households can't share data with each other.
Parents sign in with an email and password. Kids are profiles with no login at all, so there's no child account out in the world to protect.
No ads, no trackers, never sold
HouseChief shows no ads, uses no ad or analytics trackers, and never sells family data. It's free while in early access; pricing will be announced before any charge. The privacy summary says what information HouseChief keeps and which kinds of outside services help run it. Read that rather than this page for the exact wording.
The AI asks first
Your Chief of Staff can read your family's calendar, meals, recipes and lists, and it proposes changes. It doesn't make them. Calendar and meal edits, list edits, emails, new projects and anything it would submit on a website wait for a parent's Approve. The one direct action, adding items to a list when you ask, comes with Undo.
When an agent runs an errand in its cloud browser, it stops before any final submit and asks. It never types into password or payment fields; if a site needs a sign-in, you take over and do it yourself, and what you type then is never logged. Apps you connect (Gmail, Outlook, Google Drive and others) are read-only to the AI: it can search and read, never send, edit or delete. More on the AI Chief of Staff page.
Kids are protected by design
Kids see their own chores and to-dos, the calendar, meals and the family's shared lists, and nothing else: no private lists, no Settings, no Inbox. They can only tick their own chores for today. A parent PIN keeps them from switching into a parent's view, and the server enforces all of it, not just the screen.
A kid's Buddy is read-only: it can't change anything, browse or search the web, or see parents-only data, and parents can read every chat. Kids never get the Chief of Staff or any tool that writes or reaches the web. Details on the kids page.
Delete everything, anytime
The account owner can delete the entire family account from Settings by typing the family name and their password. That removes the family's data: calendar, meals, lists, chores, chats, memories, connections and the kids' profiles. A parent who isn't the owner can delete their own account and sign-in while leaving the family's data in place for the other parent.
If you want more detail than fits here, the privacy summary is written in the same plain language and is the page we keep in step with the code.
Questions
Who can see my family's information?
Only the members of your family, signed in to your household, plus anyone you give a read-only share link (schedule only). No other HouseChief family can see yours, and there are no public profiles. Kids see only their own chores and to-dos, the calendar, meals and shared lists, never private lists or Settings.
Do you sell data or show ads?
No. HouseChief has no ads, no ad or analytics trackers, and never sells family data. It's free while in early access; pricing will be announced before any charge. The privacy summary describes what's kept and which outside services help run HouseChief.
Does HouseChief track our location?
No. HouseChief has no location sharing or tracking. The weather on the Today page and the wall display uses the city you enter for your household in Settings, not your phone's location. If you want family location sharing, you'll need a different app for that.
What can the AI do without asking?
Read your family's calendar, meals, recipes and lists and any apps you've connected (read-only), search the web if you've left that on, remember what you ask it to, make pictures or documents you request, and add items to a list (with Undo). Calendar and meal changes, edits to existing items, emails, new projects and routines, and anything submitted on a website wait for a parent's Approve.
How do I delete our account and data?
Settings → Delete family account. The account owner enters the family name and their password, and the family's data is deleted. A parent who isn't the owner can delete their own account from Settings instead, which removes their sign-in and their own data but keeps the family's.
