About HouseChief
HouseChief is a family organizer with an AI chief of staff, built by a family in Dallas, Texas for their own household and now in early access for other families. It's free while in early access; pricing will be announced before any charge.
Why we built it
We're a family with a full calendar and a kitchen that wanted a command center. The calendar lived in one place, the chores on the fridge and the grocery list somewhere else. None of it held the whole picture, and the one of us who remembered everything was tired of being the one who remembered everything.
So we built the organizer we wanted for ourselves: one calendar that syncs two ways with Google, iCloud and Outlook, chores the kids actually check off, meals that turn into a grocery list sorted by aisle, and a tablet on the wall that shows all of it. Then we gave it a chief of staff: an assistant that knows the family's week, writes the morning briefing, drafts the plan, and asks before it changes anything. Then we opened it to a few other families in early access.
How we build it
A few rules we hold to. The AI proposes and a parent approves: calendar and meal changes, emails, projects and anything submitted on a website wait for a tap. Kids are profiles, not accounts, with no email or password, and kids can't reach settings, private lists or the Inbox. Everything a family adds stays in that family's household. There are no ads, no ad or analytics trackers, and we never sell family data; the plain-language privacy summary says exactly what we keep and why.
We run HouseChief on our own family every day, which is the fastest way to find out what's annoying. We ship small changes often.
Where it stands today
HouseChief is in early access. Depending on the current setting, new families either sign up at /join or request an invite that we approve by hand. It's free while in early access, and pricing will be announced before any charge. It's a web app that runs in the browser on any phone, tablet or computer; there's no App Store or Google Play app.
If something's wrong, confusing or missing, the Feedback button inside the app reaches us directly, and we read all of it. To see what HouseChief does, start with features.
